Pakistan beat Srilanka in the final of the World T20 Championship 2009. Pakistan emerged as a new champion from no where in the competition. Shahid Afridi's unbeaten knock of 54 from 40 balls helped Pakistan into a comfortable victory. Earlier, Abdul Razak destroyed the Srilankan batting line up with his three wicket haul.
